With 2022 well and truly underway, we have added a few new articles and updated others on the DotActiv PowerBase. During April, we wrote one new article based on recent software updates and updated a further two to improve the content and clarify the processes in each article.

Each updated article aims to provide quick answers to any specific questions you might have on how to best use our software for your business.

How To Set Up A Secondary Display Structure

With our recent software update, we have added the ability to have both a primary and a secondary display structure if you are working on a database in the DotActiv software.

This new feature caters to those that have multiple stores of different sizes or types, where currently a hierarchy, cluster and range is based on only one size or type. For example, the category planning process is taken from the view of a large store and does not take the unique requirements of an extra small store into consideration.

The secondary display structure has been created to solve this discrepancy, by allowing you to create a unique hierarchy/classification, cluster and range for each different size or type without influencing the other.

We, therefore, wrote this new article, which will act as a guide on how to set up a secondary display structure, as well as how to make use of this for clustering and ranging.

How To Add Products To A Gondola

One of the most important steps in building a planogram is adding the products to the gondola. Once you have created a gondola, the next step is to add products to it. There are three simple ways of adding products to a gondola.

They include:

  • Scanning in the products manually;
  • Adding the products via your product report; or
  • Using your database to drag and drop products from your product drill onto your gondola.

We recently updated this article to include the tag ‘dummy products’ for those who like to create and manually add a dummy product to a gondola. If you would like to know how to add products to a gondola, you can learn more about it in this article.

DotActiv Has Gone Into Offline Mode

When your edition of the DotActiv software goes into an offline mode, it is usually confirmed by a pop-up window which means that your DotActiv software is not communicating with our licensing server. This can be due to no network availability or a proxy settings issue.

Has your DotActiv software gone into offline mode?

Don’t worry, there might be a few reasons for it and we’ve got the solutions to help you troubleshoot this issue.

This article now includes possible reasons for a license showing as expired when it has not expired. A few of these reasons include internet connection, proxy issues, ran out of offline mode and firewall blocking.

Conclusion
