How To Create A New Range Plan In Range Optimizer

DotActiv’s Range Optimizer function is used to optimise a range based on certain variables or rules. This function also has reporting options that you can use to analyse the range.

One of the reporting options that appear in the toolbar at the top of your screen is the Hierarchy View. The hierarchy view shows the impact of the range changes you have made within the context of the whole product category.

We recently updated this article by specifying the colours used to indicate a level of the hierarchy that is either overranged, underranged or that fits in the range cap.

If you would like to know more about the Hierarchy View when working with the Range Optimizer function, please read this article.

DotActiv Editions: Unpacking The Functions And Pricing Options

Did you know DotActiv offers different pricing options that you can select depending on your business needs?

With these options, you can choose to pay monthly, annually or upfront when purchasing any edition of the DotActiv software.

You can save more than 20% if you purchase a 5-year software package upfront. This applies to all editions. We recently updated this article because it’s important to note that even though an annual fee will still be charged, this fee will be at a reduced rate.

Importing Data From A Database, CSV And Planogram

The DotActiv software allows you to transfer data to and from a database to a planogram - also known as a shelf plan, between a CSV and a planogram, and between a CSV and a database.

When importing from a CSV to a Shelf Plan, the fields in the CSV must be mapped manually to the corresponding fields or by clicking ‘Auto Map’. Since this article did not previously include a gif or explanation on how to do so, we included one to ensure you are not left in the dark when importing your data.

If you are interested in importing data from a database, CSV, or a planogram, read more about it here.

How To Download And Install Different Editions Of DotActiv Software

You’ve bought a copy of a paid edition of the DotActiv software. But now what?

After you’ve entered your credit card details, you are presented with a notification window indicating your order has been successful. You can begin your software download immediately as the button with your license key will appear in the same window.

However, things don’t always go to plan. That is why we have updated this article to inform you that if you are unable to install the DotActiv software, it could be due to the antivirus software that you have installed on the device you are working on.

Thinking of buying the DotActiv software? Learn how to download and install any edition of the DotActiv software in this easy-to-follow guide.

How To Create A Custom Report

A Custom Report creates a standard report template that multiple shelf planners can use. This ensures consistency and efficiency since you can use the same report multiple times.

When generating a Custom Report in the DotActiv software, you can use data sources and add images, text boxes, grids and even graphs.

Once you have completed your Custom Report, you can save the template as a DRT file, which you can share with multiple users. We, therefore, updated this article to specify the file type that this template will save in and what it stands for.

Read more about the Custom Report in this article.

Common Definitions, Terms and Acronyms When Working In the DotActiv Software

There are many different terms and acronyms used in the retail environment. When it comes to the DotActiv software, it’s also important to know which file types represent which type of plan or report.

As with the previously mentioned update, we have also updated this article to include ‘DRT’ and what this file represents.

You can learn more about the different retail terms and acronyms that you might come across when using the DotActiv Software in this article.

Creating Questionnaires Or Checklists For Tasks

Within the Activ8 software, you can create tasks and questionnaires to include with a task.

When it comes to creating a task, there might be segments of the task that need to be completed at different stages or by different people. In this case, you would need to create a checklist. These checklists can also be saved as a template and reused.

As such, we recently updated the section of checklists in this article to include a short section on how to delete your checklist template if you are no longer using it.

What Are The Software And Hardware Requirements To Run DotActiv's Software?

To install software and ensure that it operates smoothly, there will be certain operating system and hardware requirements that you would need to meet. The same goes for the DotActiv software.

We have recently updated the minimum and recommended hardware requirements, more specifically HDD Size, to run the DotActiv software.

How To Analyse Data On Your Planogram

The DotActiv software has various features which make analysing data extremely easy. Amongst these are the Planogram Analyzer function, Days of Supply alignment, Planogram Reports and Highlights.

To further your ability to analyse planograms within the DotActiv software, we recently added two new features. One of these is the ‘Analysis Grid’ function.

However, before you can start using the Analysis Grid, you need to set it up. We have therefore updated this article by including how to set up your KPI’s and Hierarchy.

Once set up, this grid displays a configured set of KPI’s at each level of the specified hierarchy which you can analyse. This allows you to review certain data related to the planogram.

Learn more about how to analyse data using the Analysis Grid found in the DotActiv software.

How To Open A Plano Report

The Plano Report can be used as a print-ready version of your open planogram which may become handy when you need to share this with your team.

It generates an image of the planogram with or without images of the products. You can also choose whether you would like to add product labels, remove product colour or stretch the planogram.

If you would like to, you can choose between printing this report to share with others, printing it to PDF to save it on your device or sharing it online. We updated this article to include what the print to PDF options would look like once completed.

How To Set Up Your Dashboard Statistic Settings

This article unpacks the following two tabs found on your Dashboard in Activ8: ‘My Stats’ and ‘My Team Stats’.

‘My Stats’ displays your statistics in relation to the company’s average. Under your ‘My Team Stats’ section, you can view your average statistic scores for a specified period. We recently also updated this article by adding more descriptors next to the fields found under ‘My Team Stats’.

The purpose of this article is to explain the different dashboard statistics in Activ8 software and includes a short summary of what each field means.
